The Marketing Power Of Video

If a picture is worth a thousand words…

You are giving a speech, presentation – should you have it recorded?   How can I get better results? Do I even need a Videographer and how do I work with one? How do I use it to market my company? Does it have value once I use it? These are just some of the questions I asked videographer Danielle Turner.

Videos Are Everywhere!

Videos are now making it into every interaction we’re making online. From the launch of live video feeds on Twitter, the continued popularity of video on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and the accessibility of high definition video on every mobile device. Today half of all video traffic is now routed to a mobile phone or tablet – that’s incredible growth.

Today 80% of senior executives watch more video than they did a year ago and three quarters of executives are watching work-related videos every week! And given the choice, 59% of executives would rather watch a video than read a lengthy article. Are you B2C or B2B company, then video is essential addition to your digital marketing strategy.

Videos increase open rates, increases click-through rates, and reduces unsubscribe rates in email marketing. Videos have been found effective by marketers for brand awareness, lead generation and online engagement.

Videos are more dynamic than text, which helps to engage visitors. If you have a video on the home page of your website, a video can increase the “stickiness” of your website, which is average amount of time that visitors spend on your site. In essence, videos tend to capture and hold the attention of visitors for longer periods than text. Seeing while learning or while doing allows watchers to make sure that they are following along during the instruction or education the video provides.

Everyone learns in different ways. Those who learn by listening rather than reading are drawn to videos. Videos tend to follow the how-to format for instructional purposes. Videos thus have the power to educate the target audience for which the video is intended.

Videos can help to brand you, your business and your product. Especially for service-based businesses, videos allow the service provider to build a rapport with their visitors. Because service businesses tend to rely on the relationships the service provider builds with the customers, videos can help to build the connection and thus boost sales.
